I know many of you have been feeling badly because the "uncool kids" the true nerds among us are in Austin having a huge nerd party and for various reasons, we the cool kids couldn't make it...but that's ok!  Below the fold you will find all of the good things about NOT attending Netroots Nation in Austin

Don't know about anyone else but after the day I've had all I wanna look at other than darkness because my eyes are closed is POOTIES and WOOZLES and birds and mice and kids and well anything fun!

I had a nice long Memorial Day Sub Edition diary all written...it contained references to how old mom is today (it's her bday and it's mcmom's Old Timer's bday too so happy bday to them)...it contained a poignant piece in memory of a friend who died serving our country in afghanistan...it contained a pootie or two...and it contained a few interesting tidbids from my mundane life...but my pootie ate my homework :)  Ok it wasn't the pootie...it was the puter that went poof!  So bear with me for an abbreviated version of said diary below the fold

This is gonna break a lot of diary rules but I don't care! Why?

It's the night before super Tuesday and Scooby was sitting here on my lap and fell asleep...

Introduction:  When Bill returned from his short lived (thank god!) hiatus, we put our temporary replacement of Good Morning Daily Kos on stand by.  It does show up from time to time a holiday edition and will probably fill in when Bill heads to Key West on his ONLY vacation this year (right? it is his only paid vacation? right? right?)  So ever since I've been trying to find my voice again.  I love the community aspect that provides a nice respite from the primary infighting and have been mulling over a variety of possible "series" that I could blog about.  Those that know me from C&J know that I run an ice cream parlor and have worked in the restaurant business for just about as long as I can remember.  So anyway, not long ago I posted a
Good Morning Daily Kos that turned into a recipe exchange which set off a lightbulb for me, and thus this diary tonight.  From now on on Sunday evenings I will be posting "Now We're Cooking..." with a different focus each week.  Follow me below the fold for some fun soups that also happen to taste good!

Ok now that I've dried my eyes...it's time to buck up and figure out who I want to be the next President since my first choice, John Edwards, has dropped out of the race.

First a disclaimer:  I don't usually post diaries that deal with issues, usually my diaries are followed by the tag "community" but this story hit me so hard that I really haven't been able to focus on much else today.  Follow me below the fold for more.

and more excitingly (is that even a word?) it's the first Wednesday of 2008...the year we finally take the White House back and hopefully solidify the democratic majority in the Senate and House.
And speaking of dreams, I'm hoping that sometime between now and election day the Dems that are already in the Senate and House magically grow spines and learn how to walk the walk!
